Founded in 2003, Keita Tsurumaki and Risa Chikita's two-person company
went into full throttle in 2006. Pursuing the "well-made comedies"
but exceeding the boundaries with Tsurumaki's bold storytelling, the gakudan
(literally, band) has been acclaimed for the highly entertaining ensemble
pieces with the cast of Chikita and various guest actors. They reexamine
the limits of comedy and aim at creating "stories that seems probable
at first but on second thoughts never have been seen before."
